Yunsung Lee explores ways in which old fictional narratives manifest in contemporary visual culture. Borrowing from ancient Greek and Roman mythologies, Lee expresses these motifs through graphic techniques of painting derived from manga and subcultural imagery of moe anthropomorphism. Beyond in simple subject matter and geometry of his paintings, Lee applies these methods in his examinations of shape and size of frame, combination and composition of modules, and color and painting technique.
